Project Updates & Partner Activities

The BRISWA 2.0 project continues to make significant progress as partners work together to promote inclusion, diversity, and equality in sport through innovative education and stakeholder engagement.

A major milestone was recently achieved with the successful delivery of the project’s first interactive stakeholder workshop. The event brought together representatives from the sports sector to explore how systems thinking can help address racism and discrimination in sport. Additionally, the BRISWA 2.0 curriculum, participants examined how systemic factors influence sports governance, fan culture, athlete representation, and decision-making, while discussing practical strategies for creating more inclusive sporting environments.

Project partners in Spain and Greece are finalizing preparations to host their respective regional workshops. These upcoming sessions will convene prominent local policymakers, educators, community leaders, and sports advocates. Crucially, each partner country is grounding the foundational BRISWA 2.0 syllabus in their unique regional, cultural, and institutional realities ensuring highly relevant, localized impact while maintaining a unified European standard.

Partners from across Europe will gather in-person this July in Italy for a comprehensive closing conference and project review meeting. This meeting represents the final administrative and collaborative milestone of the initiative.

The joint delegation will focus on three core objectives: Rigorously reviewing and validating all established Key Performance Indicators to measure overall regional impact. Executing a final check on the standing of all local workshops and cross-border initiatives. Collaborating face-to-face to refine and publish the ultimate training materials and project toolkits. BRISWA 2.0 is laying the foundation for long-term, structural equity in the sports sector
